Jenny Shue

Jenny Cook Shue, age 71 of Concord, NC passed away on November 2, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. Jenny was born on November 26, 1952 to William and Elizabeth Cook in Concord, NC. After graduating from Northwest High School, she began her career at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital and worked there for 41 years.

In 1977 she married Joe Shue whom she met in Concord, NC. They were married for 47 years and went on to have two children, Jessica Taylor and Jenna Shue-Carino. Jenny was known for her kind spirit, loving heart, and strong will. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, especially baking. During the holidays her family would always look forward to her strawberry and coconut cake. In 2012, she retired and spent her time taking care of her grandchildren, traveling, and volunteering at her church.

Jenny was pre-deceased by her father William Cook, and she is survived by her husband Joe Shue, two daughters Jessica Taylor and Jenna (Michael) Shue-Carino, and her grandchildren Ethan Carino, Hudson Carino, Abigail Taylor, Asher Carino, and Beckham Carino. She is also survived by her mother Elizabeth Cook and three sisters, Nancy Woodhead, Susan (Randy) Cline, and Elaine Rogers, and several loving nieces and cousins.

Services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2024 at New Gilead Reformed Church in Concord, NC at 2pm. A reception will follow the service in the Church Fellowship Hall.

Jenny loved her church, so in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor her memory may donate to New Gilead Reformed Church.
