Mrs. Janice “Jan” Virginia Fennell Peacock, age 84 of Concord passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday April 2, 2024, after a short illness.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 8 at 11 am at Carolina Memorial Park with Pastor Scott Davis officiating. The family will speak to friends following the service at the cemetery.

Jan was born April 24, 1939 in Langley, SC to Brooks Connor Fennell and Marvelle Reames Fennell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Fennell.

Jan graduated from the Academy of Richmond County and Palmer Business School in Augusta, GA. She was employed as a bookkeeper for three different firms during her 28 year working career. She was a great fan of working jigsaw puzzles, and she loved to crochet and create items for donation. She and her husband enjoyed cruise ship vacations, and they logged over 25 cruises. Jan was a member of Pitts Baptist Church and the Community 8 class.

Jan was a wonderful wife and mother, who will be dearly missed. Her family, however, takes comfort in knowing that she is in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Robert M. Peacock, Sr; son, Robert, M. Peacock, Jr.; sister-in-law, Peggy Charnock; nephews, Jonathan McNair, and wife, Kathy and Harry McNair, Jr.; niece, Kimberly Hill and husband, Scott; many close friends and neighbors, who have been there for Jan and Robert over the years and likewise.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Pitts Baptist Church, 140 Pitts School Rd NW, Concord, NC 28027, or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
