Mr. James “Jim” Alexander Nance, 78, of Mooresville, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, NC.
A funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. James Strickland. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:30pm prior to the service.
Jim was born on November 11, 1943 in Iredell Co. to the late Mildred Eugenia Robinson Nance and James Earl Nance. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Linda Morgan Nance; sister, Barbara Nation.
Jim had worked for over 50 years as a heavy equipment operator at FJ Ervin Construction and Supply and even in retirement went to work almost every day. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and front porch sitting. He was a quiet man who appreciated the simpler things in life.
He is survived by his daughters, Tamara Blackwelder and husband, Nathan of Kannapolis, Lori Bowen and husband, Bill of Denver; son, Michael Nance and wife, Kelly of Concord; grandchildren, Gabe Blackwelder, Marynda Blackwelder, Matthew Bowen, Keeley McKendree and husband, Nick, Grace Nance, Leah Nance; sisters, Jeanette Jordan, Brenda Lee; brothers, Gary Nance and wife, Helen, Freddie Nance; sister-in-law, Pam Williams and husband, Ray; brother-in-law, Farris Morgan. He has numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews that he loved very much.
