It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. James Ronald “Ronnie” Honeycutt, 77, of Concord, who passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Atrium Health Cabarrus, surrounded by his loving family.
A funeral service to celebrate Ronnie’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Peter Jellen, with burial to follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Wilkinson Funeral Home.
Born on April 5, 1947, in Concord, NC, Ronnie was the beloved son of the late Margaret Frances Hinson Polk and James Walter Honeycutt. He was also preceded in death by his cherished wife, Wanda “Sue” Kay Hendrix Honeycutt, and his sister, Kenya Kay Honeycutt.
A proud graduate of Concord High School and a U.S. Navy veteran, Ronnie dedicated over 38 years of his career to Hilbish Ford, where he served as Body Shop Foreman and held other esteemed titles. Ronnie played a crucial role in establishing Hilbish Ford’s relationship with NASCAR Race Teams, significantly contributing to Ford Racing's success. He was also a passionate coin collector who loved sharing his collection with his family.
Ronnie is survived by his sons, Tony Honeycutt and wife, Teresa, and Jimmy Honeycutt; his daughter, Lisa H. Hagan and husband, Wayne; his sister, Marissa Medlin and husband, Kim; his grandchildren, Tyler Honeycutt and wife, Ashton, Taylor Whitley and husband, Justin, Cody Honeycutt, and Braden Honeycutt; his great-grandchildren, Carson and Aubrey Honeycutt and Bristol Whitley; and his beloved dog, Lil Bit.

Ronnie's legacy of dedication, love, and passion will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.
