James “Jim” Kinnard Furr, age 86 of Concord Passed away November 22nd surrounded by his loved ones.
Jim was born November 18th, 1937 in Shallotte, NC. He was the son of Brevard Furr and Meta Seclar Furr. In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his brothers, Allen and Robert “Bob” Furr, and sister, Neil Safrit.
Jim was a scout master and a member of the Central Carolina Boy Scout Council for many years. He enjoyed old cars and playing cards, which is where you could find him every Wednesday and Friday. Jim was an animal lover and loved his dog Toby who was his buddy when Nancy was away. Above all Jim loved getting together with his family however, it had to be with a meal. He was a landlord and property manager for over 50 years.
Jim is survived by his companion, Nancy Brown of Concord; his daughter, Ashlyn Lafone and husband, Kevin of Mooresville; his son, Mark Furr of Wilmington; and their mother, Charlene Ashbaugh, as well as his two grandkids, Nicole and Greyson Lafone.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held from 11:30am until 2:30pm on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Morrison Motor Museum located at 4545 Concord Parkway, Concord, NC 28027.
