Mr. James "Jim" Quiton Ewing, 83, of Concord, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Tucker Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 9, 1940 in Mooresville to the late Katherine Elizabeth Tutterow and James Allen Ewing.
Jim was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School in Kannapolis. He pursued a career as a menswear salesman and buyer beginning with Belk in Salisbury and Concord. Later he was invited to join Goodnight Clothiers in Kannapolis where he remained until the store’s closing. He dedicated many years to building connections and creating lasting memories with his customers. Jim had a warm and welcoming presence that endeared him to all who knew him.
Jim was an active member of Central United Methodist Church in Concord where he served as a former Chancel Choir member, the Staff Parish committee, administrative board, lay leader, Chairman of the Planning and Refurbishing of the church sanctuary, Usher, and Welcoming Committee.
One of Jim's greatest joys was spending time with his wife, Linda. They shared many memorable trips to North Myrtle Beach, where they cherished the opportunity to relax and enjoy each other's company.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Linda Johnson Ewing, and his son, Mark Craig Ewing and wife, Lesa.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Central United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Tom Latimer. Following the service, the family will greet friends in the church parlor.

As we remember Jim, let us hold onto the cherished memories we shared with him and find solace in the love and joy he brought into our lives. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
