Mr. James Franklin “Jim” Boone, retired MSGT, age 76 of Charlotte, NC, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, May 6, 2021.
A celebration of life service with military honors will be held Saturday, May 22 at 10:30 am at Calvary Chapel Riverbend (Kayser Farm) 1368 Carter Farm Lane, Iron Station, NC 28080, with Pastor Tim Guisewhite officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
Jim was born December 23, 1944 in Escambia county, Florida, a son of the late Joseph Franklin and Blanche Sweeny Boone. He was also preceded in death by 1 sister and 1 brother.
Jim resided in many places around the world before settling in Adelanto, CA for 20 years. Jim and Ellen moved into their RV and starting living and traveling in it full time. RVing was a passion they both shared.
In his 23 years of military service, Jim served during the Vietnam war eventually retiring from Hellinikon Air Base, Athens, Greece. Jim served in the Civil Service at both Barstow CA Marine Corps Logistics Base Maintenance center as Water Treatment Specialist and Edwards Air Force Base, CA for 13 years as Quality Assurance Inspector.
Jim loved his God and his country. He was a loyal and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.
Those left to cherish Jim’s memory is his loving wife of 57 years, Sara Ellen Glines Boone; son, Brendon Boone and wife, Betsy of Concord; grandchildren, Alexis, David Jacob, and Kennedy.
