Mr. Jack Brown Parnell of Greenview Drive Kannapolis, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House.
Funeral services will be 3 PM Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Ed Hall and Rev. Buster Pigg. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1 PM Saturday.
Jack was born December 5, 1926 in Charlotte to Fred D. Parnell and Grace Foy Parnell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Bost Parnell and a daughter Teresa P. Queen.
Jack was a Concord Policeman for 28 years, retiring as Sergeant in 1978. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard and loved golf and baseball. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Jack is survived by his wife, Grace Kissah Parnell; daughter Jennie P. Gaudet and husband, Wayne of Concord; sons, Rick Parnell of Kannapolis and Jeff Parnell and wife, Christine of Gold Hill; step-daughter, Judy Blackwell of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Kelly Horton, Chris Queen, Joey Queen, Anna Parnell and Katy Gaudet; and eight great-grandchildren.
