Mr. Hubert Clain “Buck” James, age 89 passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Morningside Assisted Living Center.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 3 from 1 to 1:45 pm at Wilkinson Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at Carolina Memorial Park at 2:00.
Mr. James was born March 29, 1928 in Stanly County, a son of Roscoe and Onnie Mae Tucker James. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bailey James.
Buck retired from Black and Decker Tools at age 55. He then worked for many years as front desk clerk at the Colonial Inn. He enjoyed working in his yard and traveling within the US. He was a member of Forest Hill UMC.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 70 years, Virginia Brumley James; sons, Skee James of Concord and Reid James and wife, Susan of Gastonia; grandchildren, Matthew and Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Scarlett Virginia; sister, Willie Mae Gray of Concord and several nieces and nephews.
