CONCORD- Howard Junior Rinehardt, 79, passed away at CHS-NorthEast on August 18, 2017.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be 2pm Tuesday, August 22, at Harvest Community Church with Pastor Jeff Burris officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2pm at the church and also immediately following the service.
Junior was one of five children born to Guy David and Clidybell Little Rinehardt. He was born in Cabarrus County on June 17, 1938. He is preceded in death by his parents and also a brother, J.D. Rinehardt. Junior was an air compressor mechanic. In 1984 (along with Mike Shelton) he started Compressed Air Systems Inc. and worked there until his retirement. He loved all sports, especially NASCAR. Traveling in his motorhome was a big part of his life. He and his wife have traveled to 49 of the 50 states, Rhode Island being the only remaining state. He loved his Lord and his Church. Most of all, he cherished his role as husband, daddy, and proud pawpaw.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue Williams Rinehardt; daughters, Susan R. Lambert and husband Tim, Lori “Tiny” R. Hill and husband Chris, and Connie Abercrombie and husband Mac all of Concord; sister, Frances Mullis and husband Jim of Concord; brothers, Melvin Rinehardt and wife Evelyn of Concord and Wayne Rinehardt and wife Barbara of W. Columbia SC; grandchildren, Meredith Lambert, Kristen Luk and husband Howie, Jonathan Hill, Joshua Hill, Hayden Abercrombie, Rylan Abercrombie; and his furry daughter, Missy.
A special thanks is given to Dr. Ron Pollack for his personal care and to his caregivers, Gloria, Lisa, Stephanie, Shenequa, Shanna, Porsha, and Marlow.
