Henry Lee Talbert

August 23, 1936 — March 7, 2017

Mr. Henry Lee “Bud” Talbert age 80, passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Bethany Wood Nursing and Rehab in Albemarle.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at West Concord Cemetery with Rev. Buck Canup and Rev. Mickie Howard officiating.

Bud was born August 23, 1936 in Cabarrus County, a son to the late Henry B. Talbert and Louise Prince Talbert. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers. Bud retired from UNCC in the maintenance department. He favorite past time was hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed the art of woodworking, a talent he passed down to his grandson. (Their favorite wood and stain is cherry) Bud meant the world to his family and friends and he will be dearly missed by those who loved him.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Doris Marze Talbert; daughter, Norma Jean Newton and husband, Dave of Concord; grandchildren, Megan Lee and Cody High (Annie); great-grandchildren, Ava, Mason, Ellie and Summer; a brother, Billy Talbert of Albemarle and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimers Association, Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
