Helen Reed

Ms. Helen Marie Taylor Reed, age 90 of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Tucker Hospice House.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 12th at Wilkinson Funeral Home from 1 to 2 pm. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens.

Helen was born September 3, 1933 in Monmouth County, New Jersey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Taylor and Violet Applegate Taylor, her son, Norman Reed, Jr, and sisters, Pat Rice and Bobbie Boyce.

In the mid 80’s, Helen resided in Winter Haven, Florida where she worked and raised her children. She had a 21year career in housekeeping at Winter Haven Hospital. For the past 13 years, she has lived in Cabarrus County to be near her family. Helen was known for her dance moves, and a clean house. She always tried to keep a positive attitude about life, and not let things get her down. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Brian Reed and his family; companion, Linda Brendel, grandson, Mathew Reed and wife, Roxanne and great-grandson, Silas Reed; Norman Jr.’s family; grandsons, Nicholas Reed, Christopher Reed and wife, Renee, and Job Reed; great-granddaughter, Arianna Reed; great-grandson, Kayden Reed; daughter, Cheryle Auberry and husband, Richard and their family; grandsons, Dustin and Derek Auberry, grandsons, Richard “Rick” Auberry, Jr. and wife, Amy; granddaughters, Rachel Johannson and Michelle Richerson; great-grandchildren, Brannon Auberry, Calaeb Auberry, Makenna Auberry, Damian Richerson and partner, Christine, Ryan Richerson, Carson and Mason Jones; great-great-grandsons, Kai & Zane Richerson; sister, Dorothy Taylor, and brother, Tom Taylor.
