Dr. Guy Lee Tebbit of Concord, and formerly of Greensboro, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at his home.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday (4/13/2024) at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 AM at the funeral home.
Guy was born August 8, 1949 in Aurora, IL to the late Walter Irving Tebbit, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Stilwell. He was also preceded in death by father-in-law, James R. Pitcher.
Guy graduated from Northern Illinois University and earned a Ph.D. in Microbiology from Oregon State University. He went on to direct Research and Development for Wildlife Vaccines in Denver, Colorado before overseeing Regulatory Affairs for Research and Development in Animal Health at Novartis Pharmaceuticals in Greensboro NC.
Guy was an avid golfer, loved to travel and spend days on the beach. He was a classical music enthusiast and enjoyed reading and spending time with his family. He had a very special love for animals.
Guy is survived by his wife, Jean Ann Pitcher Tebbit; children, Christopher Tebbit, MD and wife, Katherine of Charlotte, and Sarah T. Wilson and husband, Nathan of Huntersville; grandchildren, Charles and Elizabeth Tebbit, and Jacob and Benjamin Wilson; sister, Sandy T. Grams and husband, Mark of Grafton, WI; mother-in-law, Phyllis K. Pitcher of Greensboro; sister-in-law, Linda P. Drust and husband, Dan of York, PA; and other extended family members.
