CONCORD- Geraldine Ridenhour Sherrill, 92 passed away at Five Oaks Manor on April 27, 2017.
A memorial service will be 3pm Sunday, April 30, at Wilkinson Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Suzanne Dornsmith officiating. A private burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3pm Sunday at Wilkinson Funeral Home.
Entering this world on June 15, 1924, Geraldine was the youngest of eight children (and last remaining child) of Lewis C. and Gertrude Crowell Ridenhour. She was born in Cabarrus County and spent her life here. She graduated from Concord High School Class of 1941. She was a member of Forest Hill United Methodist Church. Before her health began to fail her, she was an active member at church and enjoyed the activities of Circle #3. She also enjoyed her bridge club, the Beverly Hills Sewing Club, and her weekly hair appointment. In addition to her parents and siblings, her husband, L.C. “Tooney” Sherrill, preceded her in death in 1972.
Mrs. Sherrill is survived by her daughter, Miss Jane C. Sherrill of Concord; sons, Mark Sherrill and wife Brenda, and Lew Sherrill and wife Paula both of Concord; and grandchildren, Joshua Sherrill and Timothy and Stefanie Brignac.
The Sherrills wish to thank the staff of Five Oaks for their long-term compassionate care.
