Mr. Gene "Skip" Kermit Verble, Jr. passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Atrium Hospice House.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, April 28th at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by his nephew Rev. Alan Freeman. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

Skip was born April 5, 1952, in Concord to Gene K. Verble and Leona Barnhardt Verble. After graduating from Central Cabarrus High School and North Carolina State University, Skip, along with brother-in-law Darrell Hagler, started Safewaze Fall Protection Company in Concord, specializing in safety harnesses for the construction industry.

Skip enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing with his buddies, the beach, time on his boat, and sports. He and Nancy are members of Multiply Church in Concord.

Skip is survived by his wife Nancy Sedberry Verble; son Stephen Hartsell and wife Patricia of Mt. Gilead, NC; grandsons Samuel E. Hartsell and wife Alexandra of Knoxville, TN and Caius N. Hartsell of Wilmington, NC; sisters Sandy V. Hagler and husband Darrell of Concord, and Patti Freeman and husband Doug of Concord; and a number of extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Multiply Church, 280 Concord Pkwy S. Suite 85, Concord, NC 28027.
