Mr. Gary Rex Honeycutt, age 69, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 28, 2020, surrounded by his family.
Gary was born January 26, 1951 in Stanly County as the only child of Rev. Marvin A. Honeycutt and Jewell Barbee Honeycutt who both passed away in 2018.
Gary graduated from Central Cabarrus High School in 1969. He was a loving, big-hearted guy who always tried to help out his fellow man. He enjoyed classic cars, tractor pulls, drag racing and watching History Channel on TV. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren who amazed him with their many accomplishments. His favorite place was sitting on the porch with his faithful canine companion, Boone. All of his friends became family instantly and he will be missed by many.
Left to cherish Gary’s memory is his loving wife, Gail Blackwelder Honeycutt; daughter, Karen Wade and husband, David Wade, and their children, Micah and Alana; stepson, Brian Phillips and wife Kim, and his children, Kennedy, Katie, and Nathan; stepdaughter, Ginger Phillips Mole and husband, Michael Mole, and their children, Dylan, Ryan, and Owen; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
