Mr. Frederick “Rick” Sanders Lott passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at Atrium Health Northeast.
A service to celebrate his life will be 2 PM Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Epworth United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Sonny Reavis. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:45 PM at the church.
Rick was born December 20, 1951 in Concord to the late Frederick Derrick Lott and Faye Sanders Lott. He graduated from Concord High School, class of 1970. Rick went on to join the North Carolina National Guard, 1454 Transportation Company serving as Sergeant and a counselor. After a short career with the NC Department of Transportation, Rick was employed with Phillip Morris for 25 years.
He was a past member of the Concord Jaycees and Kiwanis Club. He was also a former member of the gospel group “Singing Americans”. Rick loved NASCAR, blue grass and gospel music, gardening and watching The Andy Griffin show. He had a deep devotion to his family and was a wonderful grandfather called “Pop” to Myles and Breanna. He had so many wonderful, caring friends who will miss him tremendously.
Those left to cherish Rick’s memory are his loving wife of 47 years, Gail Honeycutt Lott; daughter, Anna Elizabeth Hielscher and husband, Bill of Gold Hill; son, Rickey Lott of Concord; grandchildren, Myles and Breanna Hielscher; brother, Dan Lott and wife, Beth of Concord; nieces, nephews, and many other loving relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church “Flock” preschool, 1030 Burrage Road NE, Concord, NC 28025 or to St Jude Children’s Hospital at Memorials Processing, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
