Frank was born October 20, 1944 in Concord, a son of the late Rev. Arthur A. Plummer and Kathryn Weast Plummer.

He was a 1963 graduate of Hartsell High School where he was very involved in all sports… baseball, basketball and football. He was a standout on the baseball field, with his left- handed pitching arm being a great asset to the team. He also excelled as a batter having hit one of the longest balls out of the park and landing it in “Swink Street”, which was right field. After high school, Frank joined the Army and proudly served his country in Vietnam. He later obtained a business degree from Southern Western Technical Institute. He worked at the Concord Tribune for several years and at Cox Mill Elementary School. In his younger years, Frank enjoyed golf outings with his brother and other golfers. He also enjoyed woodworking hobbies.

Frank loved the Lord and his church family at New Covenant Baptist Church in Kannapolis. He actively served in the church as long as he was physically able. He and his wife, Dianne gathered fruit and candy each year at Christmas and assisted others in preparing “Christmas Pokes”. Frank was a kind, gentle, quite man with a big heart, and he will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Dianne Rayfield Plummer; brother, Kenneth “Ken” Plummer and wife, Daphne of Calabash, NC; sister, Kathy Plummer of Kannapolis; numerous nieces, nephews, and his loyal Beagle companion, “Rose Mary”.

Memorials may be made to the New Covenant Baptist Church Building Fund,1400 Stone Street, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
