Mr. Franklin Harvey “Mac” McEachern, 83, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at home.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, February 19, 2016 at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Carrie Bishop. The body will lie in state at 10:00 am in the sanctuary. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends following the burial in the Fellowship Hall.
Mac was born on Feb. 8, 1933 in Cabarrus County to the late Hoyle Bryant and Nannie Faggart McEachern. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Harold McEachern. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and loved farming and horses, especially “Dollie”. Mac had worked for years at the Food Centre, Cooks Packaging Plant and Mooresville Meat Co. He also enjoyed buying and selling livestock and automobiles. Mac always put his family first before anything and cherished their memories.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances Hatley McEachern; daughters, Ann Marie Barrier and husband Philip of Concord, Patricia Gail McEachern of Concord; grandchildren, Cara Ann Barrier and Amanda Caroline Barrier; brothers, George McEachern and Joe McEachern of Concord; in- laws, Gene and Laura Cline of Chattanooga, TN and J.B. and Barbara Hatley of Concord ; a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of many close friends.
