Frances Koob

On November 8th, 2024, “The coffee went cold” “Nothing new here” will never be said again by our sweet mother.

Frances Koob was born in Binghamton, NY on September 17, 1929 to Edith and Addison Craver. To most was Fran, or Frances but to those closest she was Noop, Noopy and proudly Granny Noop by her 27 grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Raised in Broome Co., NY, married to Philip Koob on January 1953 and raised her own family there until 1980. She moved to Concord and continued her journey of love of life, staying busy with daily tasks to meet her family's needs, time with new friends, travel and southern living.

A 40-year member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, she served on the board of Coltrane LIFE Center and loved throwing her annual Christmas party for family and friends.

Fran found joy in a strong cup of coffee, a good crossword puzzle, and a bargain discount while shopping.

She was predeceased by her parents, Edith and Addison Craver; her husband, Philip Koob; brother, Eugene Craver; sister, Lois Bennett.

Fran is survived by her sister, Ruth Pasquale of Vestal, NY; children, Diana Cortright and husband, Roy of Concord, Michael Koob and wife, Laura of Asheville, Steven Koob of Raleigh, NC, Vincent Koob and wife, Lisa of Mt. Pleasant, Timothy Koob of Concord; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; extended family member including, Karee Koob, Jennifer Koob and Linda Smith.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
