Frances Ann Wilkinson Godley passed from this life to the next on October 3, 2023 in Concord, NC. She was born to James Heilig "Bub" Wilkinson and Ann Whisnant Wilkinson on October 28, 1928 in Concord, NC. She attended schools in Concord, and then attended Southern Seminary, Salem College, and graduated from Duke University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught elementary school in Durham and Concord. After raising her children she received her Masters in Education from UNCC, and resumed her career as a Reading Specialist at A.T. Allen and Stonewall Jackson School.
While attending Duke University she married Clyde L. Propst Jr., also from Concord. Together they raised four children; Carol P. Cottom-Hovey (Bryan), Susan P. Hannah (Walter), Luther Propst lll (Liz Storer), and Daniel Propst (Joy). Frankie is also survived by eight grandchildren; Ross and Laura Hannah, Amanda and Christopher Propst, Miles and Holly Cottom (Gilbert), and Matthew and Diana Propst.; and five great-grandchildren.
In 1985 Frankie married Slade Godley and spent many happy years in Vero Beach, Fl. and Blowing Rock, before returning to Concord's Taylor Glen Community.
Frankie's passions included her long time Garden Club, playing bridge, antiques, and shopping, and special occasions or parties of any kind. She always loved dogs, and enjoyed the many litters that she and Clyde raised. She was active at First Presbyterian Church in Concord.
Frankie was pre-deceased by her parents and her younger brother James Heilig (Jim) Wilkinson, Jr. and his wife Nancy, as well as Slade Godley.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the kind, loving and dedicated staff at Taylor Glen, and also to First Presbyterian, for all the visits and cards.
The funeral service will be held on Friday October 13 at 2:00 at First Presbyterian Church, Concord, NC, followed by a receiving Davis Hall.
