Evelyn Martha Smith

November 14, 1926 — January 31, 2016

Mrs. Evelyn McLain Smith, age 89 passed away Sunday morning January 31, 2016.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:30 am Wednesday, February 3 at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Park.
Mrs. Smith was born November 14, 1926 in Madisonville PA, a daughter to the late Robert E. and Grace Chambers McLain. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wendell L. Smith, Sr, a son, William R. Smith, son-in-law, Charles Brown and 6 siblings.
“ Grammy”, as she was known by her grandchildren, loved spending time with her family. Trips to the beach were a must, with lots of activities for the children. She was an avid bowler and bingo player, until her eyesight limited her. Evelyn was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be sorely missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Donna Hanley and husband, Richard of Cincinnatus, NY, Susan Brown of N. Lauderdale, FL, Wendell Smith, Jr. and wife, Diane of Fayetteville and Kenneth Smith of Concord; six grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, June Borosky of Simpson, PA; brother, Gene McLain of Madisonville, PA and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
