Evelyn Eloise Motley

September 27, 1920 — April 18, 2016

Mrs. Evelyn Padgett Motley, formerly of Green Street, SW, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at Avante at Concord.
Her funeral will be 4 PM Thursday at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Tam Wensil. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:30pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Evelyn was born September 27, 1920 in Cabarrus County to the late Janna Joseph Padgett and Lector Foster Padgett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Albert Motley and her brothers, Ira Padgett and Vernon Padgett. Evelyn retired from Arrowoods Mill, formerly Carol-May Hosiery and was a member of Rocky Ridge United Methodist Church.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Paulette and Craig Hagler of Concord, and Janet and Michael Bowen of Greensboro; one grandson, Brent Hagler; brother, Harley Padgett; and a number of nieces.
The family would to express their deep appreciation to the staff at Avante for their love and care, and a special thank you is extended to the staff of Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Rocky Ridge UMC, 1428 Old Charlotte Road SW, Concord, NC 28027 or to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
