Mr. Ellis Lawson III, 64, of Albemarle, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Atrium Health-Cabarrus.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Wilkinson Funeral Home chapel, officiated by Rev. Evelyn Lawson.

Ellis was born on July 25, 1959 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Geraldine Jones Lawson and Ellis Lawson, Jr.
Ellis was renowned as the king of the grill at his house. BBQ'ing ribs, chicken, and anything else tasty was his specialty. His culinary skills brought joy and satisfaction to many gatherings.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria J. Scruggs Lawson; daughters, Cherell Orr, Sharia Turner; son, Ellis Lawson IV; sisters, Kathy Rice, Leslie Lawson; brothers, Vernon Lawson, Terrance Lawson; 9 grandchildren.
