Elizabeth Simpson

Mrs. Elizabeth "Libby" Ann Hall Simpson, 80, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service to honor her life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Timothy Walters. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will greet friends from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service at the church.

Libby was born on May 17, 1944, in Concord, NC, to the late Mary Luther Hall and James Hall. She was also preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Bryan Simpson; and her sisters, Carol Bost and Louise Furr.

Libby spent many years working as a Winder at Cannon Mills - Plant 10, where she forged lifelong friendships with her coworkers. Her happy place was at the beach, where she found peace collecting seashells and walking along the water's edge.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Boyce Theodore Simpson, Sr.; her sons, Boyce "Buddy" Theodore Simpson Jr. and wife, Tina, Scott Simpson and wife, Kim, and James "Jimmy" Simpson and wife, Kristy; her sister, Brenda Sossaman; her grandchildren, Matthew Simpson and wife, April, Cory Simpson and partner, Matt, Noah Simpson, and Nickolas Simpson; her great granddaughter, Ivey Simpson; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081, or Bethlehem Baptist Church, 42 Liske Ave NW, Concord, NC 28027.

Libby's warmth, love, and dedication to her family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for her kindness, her love of life, and her joyful spirit.
