Mrs. Elizabeth "Beth" Craig Massey, 69, of Huntersville, peacefully passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Tucker Hospice House. Her life was one of deep faith, love, and service to her community, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 2 pm, officiated by Rev Rob Watkins. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1 pm.
Beth was born on May 17, 1955, in Baldwyn, Mississippi, to the late Nancy Catherine Drum Craig and the Rev. Kenneth P. Craig. Her family moved to the area when she was a child, and from the age of 12, she became a devoted and faithful member of Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church. Throughout her life, Beth served her church in many different capacities, always with a spirit of dedication and care. She was especially known and cherished for her time spent working at the church daycare, where she found great pride and joy in taking care of others.
Beth is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, James “Cecil” Massey, Jr. of Concord; her daughter, Tamara Massey, and her partner, Greg Gunsallus of Charlotte; her brothers, David Craig and his wife, Esther, and Danny Craig and his wife, Vicki, all of Gastonia; as well as her beloved grand dog, Shadow, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Beth’s life was a testament to her deep faith, her unwavering dedication to her church, and her love for her family and community. Her kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many, and she will be remembered with great affection and admiration. May she rest in peace.
