Elizabeth Anne Kluttz

October 6, 1947 — September 5, 2018

Elizabeth Campbell Kluttz passed away peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018 after spending her final weeks surrounded by loving family and dear friends.

Liz was born October 6, 1947 in Concord to her parents, the late Willis and Evelyn Campbell and was one of five children. She married her devoted husband, Clyde F. Kluttz Jr., in 1989, and the two remained in love and nearly inseparable for 29 years. Her affection extended to Clyde's family as well, including his children Jeanna, Michael and Todd.

Liz's love of family was undeniable. Her four siblings treasured her, Clyde’s children, who she loved as her own, loved her dearly, and two generations of nieces and nephews adored their "Aunt Lizzie." It was this role as Aunt Lizzie that perhaps left the most indelible mark. She dedicated much of her time to her nieces and nephews. Whether it was late nights watching I Love Lucy, back-to-school shopping trips, personalizing Christmas gifts with ribbons, bows and hand-made cards, or sitting at “the kids table” at family meals, each one could count on her for unconditional love and laughter. Her 70 years were spent making memories with her family and friends that will last a lifetime. Nearly everyone who crossed her path was left with more than one endearing story of a time when Liz lent a helping hand, accompanied them on an exciting adventure or simply "saved the day."

A Concord native, Liz was very active in the community and had a servant's heart. She was a member of Cold Springs United Methodist Church, and she made it her mission to care for others – family members and friends alike – in any way she could.

Liz will be truly missed and warmly remembered by those she leaves here on earth. She is survived by husband, Clyde and children, Jeanna Ferguson and husband, Chris of Mount Pleasant, Michael Kluttz and wife, Tess of Concord, and Todd Kluttz and wife, Leslie of Springfield, Ill.; siblings, Bill Campbell, Martha Sides and husband, Charles, David Campbell and Jim Campbell and wife, Margie; grandchildren, Mary Margaret Ferguson, J.D. Kluttz, Katelyn Ferguson, Addison Kluttz, Rachael Kluttz and Caroline Kluttz; nine nieces and nephews and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceding her in death and greeting her in her heavenly home are her parents, Willis and Evelyn Campbell, sister-in-law, Lee Campbell and niece, Kelly Jo Campbell.

A service to celebrate Liz’s life will be held Saturday, Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. at Cold Springs United Methodist Church, 2550 Cold Springs Road, Concord, NC 28025. The family will receive friends after the service in Krimminger Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Tucker Hospice House, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
