CONCORD- Edward Ray “Eddie” Alexander, 75, went home to be with the Lord on July 26, 2022.
Funeral services will be 3pm Friday at Friendship Southern Baptist Church with Rev. George Townsend and Rev. Jesse Watkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3pm in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
Eddie was one of two sons born to Robert S. and Helen Coley Alexander. He was born in Cabarrus County on September 20, 1946. He was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church where he loved his Sunday School class and often ran the sound system. He was a 1964 graduate of Hartsell High School. Following graduation, he had a long career as an aircraft machinist. Eddie enjoyed golf, fishing, deer hunting, watching football, photography, traveling, artistic painting, coin collecting, woodworking, and going to the beach. He will forever be remembered as a caring husband, loving father, patient son, amazing grandfather, devoted Christian, and a true friend and mentor.
Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dona Ferris Alexander; daughter, Angela A. Rabon(Jonathan) of Concord; sons, Kenneth Alexander(Amanda) of Kannapolis and Chris Alexander(Christie) of Concord; brother, Robert Wayne Alexander(Brenda) of Kannapolis; Sister-in-Law, Debbie Heinsohn(Larry) of Cary; grandchildren, Anthony Rabon, Jessica Parker(Chase), Mason Alexander(Camilla), Luke Alexander, and Kayla Todd; and great grandchildren, Bailee-Rae, Braxton-Lee, Gunner, Ronan, Ryker, and Aidan.
