Edna "Irene" Hinson Coble passed away January 13, 2018, at home.
The family will receive at Wilkinson Funeral Home, Tuesday, January 16th from 12 to 2pm followed by the funeral service at 2pm with Rev. Mike Farley officiating. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery.
Irene was born April 18, 1925, in Concord, NC to Ollie and Laura Hinson. She graduated Salutatorian of her class from Hartsell School. At the age of 18 she bravely traveled by train to Kansas to marry the love of her life, Grover Coble who was stationed there in service. Irene worked as a cloth inspector for Cannon Mills at Plant # 2 and #10 until retirement.
Irene was known to many as "Sis". She was a dedicated and faithful member of West Concord Baptist Church. She was an excellent baker and known for her wonderful chocolate pies and coconut cakes. But most importantly, she was a loving, devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family.
Irene is survived by her son, Darrell Coble; sister, Doris Hinson; brothers, Lewis (Dot) and Don (Pat) Hinson; granddaughter, Lindsey Walker (Todd); and great-grandson, Ethan Walker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Laura Hinson; her beloved husband, Grover Coble; sister, Pat Hinson; brothers, Glenn and Melvin Hinson.
