Dorothy Louise Macdonald

August 27, 1921 — February 12, 2017

Mrs. Dorothy Louise Zirm MacDonald, 95, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Five Oaks Manor.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm, Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, officiated by Pastor Albert Johnston. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 am on Thursday, at Wilkinson Funeral Home.
Dorothy was born on August 27, 1921 in Reynoldsville, PA to the late Frederick Paul Zirm and Margaret Pierce Zirm. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack” MacDonald; sister, Helen Zirm; brother, Fred Zirm.
Dorothy was a huge Atlanta Braves fan, especially Chipper Jones. She also enjoyed watching the Panthers play football.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Louise Killough and husband, Sid; son, John F. MacDonald and wife, Kathy; grandchildren, Kelli Bosch and husband, Devin, Kevin Killough and wife, Casey, John MacDonald, Kristi Painter and husband, Michael, great-grandchildren, Elijah and Evelyn Painter.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Hall and the staff at Five Oaks and Angela Trull and the caregivers at Central Carolina Home Care for their love and care of Dorothy over the years.
