Mrs. Doris Ann Blotz McDonner, age 71 passed away peacefully Monday, January 1, 2018 at Tucker Hospice House.
Doris was born January 5, 1946 in Harrison County, IN, the daughter of Victor and Anna Belle Heddon Blotz. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roger Blotz.
Doris was a loving wife, mother, doting grandmother, an avid reader and loved doing crosswords. She had been an active member of Mallard Creek Baptist Church for several years, until her illness. She will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her, but they take comfort in knowing that she is at rest with her Lord.
Those left to cherish Doris’ memory are her loving husband of 35 years, Steve McDonner; daughter, Erin Derr and her children Taylor and Katie Grace of Rockwell; daughter, Megan Schevey and her husband, Armin of Mooresville and their baby girl, Genevieve, due to arrive in April; son, Pat McDonner and his wife, Jennifer and their children, William, Kyla, Sophia and Cy of Evansville, IN; brother, Darryl Blotz of Elizabeth, IN, and a host of other loving relatives and friends in NC, IN and KY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Urban Ministry Center (for the homeless), P.O. Box 31335, Charlotte, NC 28231; the Gate Pregnancy Resource Center 3824 Highway 49 S., Harrisburg, NC 28075 (www.gateprc.org); or ALS Association, 4 N Blount Street #200, Raleigh, NC 27601.
