Mrs. Geneva Furr Lefler, 90, of Concord, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her family.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Roberta Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Jordan Perkins with Steve Pennington assisting. Burial will follow at Roberta United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6-8 on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Wilkinson Funeral Home. Geneva will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service at church.
Geneva was born on March 27, 1932 in Concord to the late Margaret Frances Cochran Furr and Glenn Edward Furr. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Joel O. Lefler; brother, H.E. “Gene” Furr.
Geneva was a longtime, faithful member of Roberta Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School, was on the Benevolence Committee, and served the church in many different capacities. She was a longtime Nursing Assistant at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital and loved to help others with anything. Her 3 children were her priority in life, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Decorating her church for different events was also a passion of hers, and she loved any and all flowers.
She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Skidmore and husband Danny, Debbie Carpenter and husband Rick; son, Jimmy Dale Barbee and wife, Angie; sister, Betty Lefler; grandchildren, Dusty Starnes and wife, Bri, Rusty Starnes, Danielle Cook and husband, Josh; great-grandchildren, R.J. Starnes, Mackenzie Starnes, Dax Cook, Kai Cook, Corbin Starnes.
