Donna Helms

Donna Sue Threadgill Helms, 65 of Concord, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully into the arms of our Savior on Monday, January 13, 2025 at her home.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 18th at Gordon Heights Baptist Church from 11:30 to 1:00 pm. A service of celebration will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Matthew Tucker officiating. She will be laid to rest at West Concord Cemetery.

Donna was born February 12, 1959 in Salisbury, NC the youngest of five loving children to Margaret Lee Threadgill of Concord and the late Ray Weldon Threadgill. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, Bruce "Butch" Edward Helms, Jr. and brother-in-law, Danny Taylor.

A faithful Christian, wife, daughter, mother, sister, cousin, friend and the most beloved Nana, Donna enjoyed cooking, (especially cooking the grandbabies whatever they wanted), spending time with friends, family, and her treasured grandchildren. She leaves behind countless precious memories of a life lived with faith, love, and dedication.

Donna retired from the Cabarrus County Schools where she worked in the cafeteria, touching many lives, young and old. Her life was deeply rooted in faith, and she was a devoted member of Gordon Heights Baptist Church for 30 years, where she served as treasurer for many years.

In addition to her mother, Margaret, those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Dustin Helms and wife, Jessica, and Darrell Helms; precious grandchildren, Zach, Caiden, Paisley, Bentley, Nevaeh, Garrett and Dylan; brother, Ray Threadgill, Jr. and wife, Rhonda, sister, Dianne Taylor, brother, Mike Threadgill and wife, Dianna and good friend, Barbara Allmon, brother, Wayne Threadgill and wife, Pam; many extended family and friends.
