Donald George Hichman, Jr. age 54, of Concord, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 surrounded by his wife and children.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 pm Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Impact Church in Concord. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 4 pm with Pastor Donna Wise officiating.
Don, as he was known to many, was born November 3, 1965 in Schenectady county, NY, and was the son of father, Donald G. Hichman, Sr. and wife, Linda Hichman and mother, Jean K. Hager.
Don had a career in the trucking industry and was a talented guitarist. He was a member of Impact Church where he played with the worship team and was a former member of the Cowboy Church for many years. Don loved the musician Pat Travers, the Buffalo Bills, his horse “Dolly”, and being “Pop Pop” to his grandkids. He was a wonderful husband, father, pop pop, son, brother, uncle and friend to all those who knew and loved him. He will be dearly missed, especially by his sweet dog, “Lexie”.
In addition to his parents, left to cherish Don’s memory is his loving wife, Tammy Gaddis Hichman; his daughters, Tiffany Currier, Courtney Hichman and her significant other, Bryan Price, and Marissa Hichman; step-children, Denea Allman, Mark Allman, Jr. and wife, Cassie, and Christian Morales and husband, Miguel; grandchildren, Max and Mila Mancini; step-grandchildren, Gabriella and Josiah Morales; siblings, Terry Nolan and husband, Tom, Donna Beechey and husband, Bob, and Eric Hichman, and wife, Katrina; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Light the Night, 4530 Park Road, Suite 240, Charlotte, NC 28209, going to website, pages.ills.org/ltn/nc/Char/nc20/walkingwarriors or the Be the Match foundation. These organizations help raise funds and awareness for Leukemia/Lymphona, and are special for this family, as Don suffered from a form of blood cancer.
