Mr. Declan Patrick Doheny, 86 of Concord, passed away at home on Sunday November 17, 2019.The family will receive friends from 10 to 11am on Thursday at St. James Catholic Church. The funeral mass will follow at 11am officiated by Father Jerome Chavarria C.Ss.R. Burial will be at St. James Cathoilc Church Cemetery.
Mr. Doheny was born on November 22, 1932 in Dublin Ireland to the late Phillip and Mary Doheny. He is survived by his two sisters, Emily Doheny of NC and Agnes Smith and husband Sid of England, two nieces, Jenny Turner and husband Michael and Carolin O’Connor and husband J.J.; three great nephews, Liam, Niall and Jack, along with one great niece Amy of England.
Mr. Doheny worked for Mount Loretto Orphanage in State Island, NY for 17 years and also worked at Cannon Mills for 15 years.
Memorials may be made to St. James the Greater Catholic Church Maintenance Fund, 139 Manor Avenue, Concord, NC 28205.
