Mr. Crawford Franklin "Frank" James, Jr., 86, of Concord, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Tucker Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm Monday, November 18, 2019 at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Carol Carkin officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:30 pm prior to the serivce in the Parlor.
Born in Mount Pleasant on November 2, 1933, he was a son to the late Crawford Franklin James, Sr. and Sarah Warren James. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and attended North Carolina State University.
Mr. James served in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Amador in Panama and was an avid military supporter. He was also a staunch Alabama football fan.
Mr. James served as Vice President of Kindley Yarns in Mount Pleasant.
He loved and adored his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed the company of Hollie, the family’s cocker spaniel.
He was preceded in death by his son, Crawford Franklin James III. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Shirley Sloop James; son, David James and wife, Kris; grandchildren, Madalyn James and Crawford "Ford" James; brothers, Charles A. James and Allen N. James; and sister, Elizabeth James Penninger.
