Charlotte Morton Hampton, 78, of Olathe, KS, formerly of Concord, NC passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the family home.
The family will receive friends at Wilkinson Funeral Home, 100 Branchview Drive NE, Concord, NC 28025 on Sunday, September 8 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. The funeral will follow at 1:30 at the Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery.
Charlotte was born May 15, 1946, in Concord, NC the daughter of Johnnie James Morton and Faye Mullis Morton. She lived in Concord until the last year of her life. Charlotte kept children in her home and was also a hair stylist. She spent a lot of her time pouring into children and teaching them unshakeable values and all about Jesus. Her faith in Christ began at an early age and continued throughout her lifetime. It has been said that to know Charlotte was to love Charlotte. When you spent time around her, you knew you were loved too. She was a kind, loyal friend to many. Charlotte may have been small, but her heart was big. She was spunky and full of wit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved husband, Joe Kimble Hampton. Charlotte is survived by her sister, Brenda Kay Morton Cooper (Jack), her daughter, Michelle Burris James (Allen) and her two grandsons, AJ James (Paige) and Brown James (Sydney), and her four great grandchildren, Faye James, Josephine James, Joseph James, and Michael James. She had many nieces and nephews.
