Mr. Charlie Eugene Blackwelder, Sr. age 94 of Concord passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Morningside of Concord.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 30th from 2 to 3 pm at Friendship Southern Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm with Pastor Jesse Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
Charlie was born in Cabarrus County on January 6, 1930. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Sherrill Blackwelder and son-in-law, John Camp.
Charlie was an Army veteran and retired from the NC License Tag Agency. He was a member of Friendship Southern Baptist Church and the senior adult class. He was a master woodworker, creating beautiful works of art that his family will cherish for years to come. Charlie was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Chip Blackwelder and wife, Ann of Concord, and Shelia Camp of Concord; grandchildren, Kellie Miller and husband, Stephen, Katherine Clymer and husband, Tommy, Jonathan Camp and wife, Michelle, and Elizabeth McCarthy and husband, Daniel; great-grandchildren, Harrison, Averie and Charlie Miller, Delia Clymer, Reagan Camp, and Madison McCarthy.
