Charles "Buddy" Mclaurin

December 9, 1943 — February 14, 2021

Mr. Charles Murray McLaurin “Buddy”, age 77 of Concord, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 14, 2021, with his family at his side.

Mr. McLaurin will lie in state on Sunday, February 21 at Wilkinson Funeral Home from 10 am to 4 pm. Private services will be held for the family.

Buddy was born December 9, 1943 in Alamance county, and was the son of the late Murray Daniel McLaurin and Layra Elizabeth Culp McLaurin. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Kay Byerly McLaurin, and siblings, Jerry, Jim, Bob, Linda and Donna.

Buddy retired from Continental General Tire Company, where he worked as a pipefitter/welder for almost 30 years. He was also proud to say that he served our country in the United States Army.

Buddy was a man with a big heart and a big personality. He loved to laugh, play practical jokes on family and friends, tease and kid with you, and he never met a stranger. He enjoyed listening to classic country music including Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard and George Jones. Buddy loved to spend time up at his mountain cabin with family and go fishing at the beach. He was truly a one-of-a-kind guy who loved his God, country and family. Buddy will be dearly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol Henry Rainwater; daughter, Lynn Cauthen and husband, Ray; grandsons, Daniel Cauthen and wife, Jennifer, and Johnny Cauthen and wife, Lindsay; great-grandchildren, Brody, Dylan and Henry; adopted grandson, Chris Carpenter and wife, Katie and family; step-daughter, Angela Brownfield and husband, Mike; step-grandchildren, Jessica Welch and Jeff England; step-great-grandchildren, Troy, Anna, Dean, Jema, and Nash; brothers, Dolan (Skeeter) McLaurin and wife, Claudette, David McLaurin, and; sister, Diane Stidem and husband, Terry; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, friends and neighbors, who all loved Buddy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Nazareth Child and Family Connection, P.O. Box 1438, Rockwell, NC 28138 or the Patriot Guard Riders of North Carolina, P.O. Box 36202, Fayetteville, NC 28303
