Charles Gary “Charlie” LeGrand, a loving father, grandfather and friend, passed away on May 22, 2023, at his home in Concord. He was 70.
Mr. LeGrand was born January 19, 1953, in Huntington, West Virginia, to the late Charles Edward LeGrand and Betty Smoot LeGrand.
After graduating from Huntington East High School, Mr. LeGrand attended Marshall University. He was an alumnus of the Cleveland Institute of Electronics. He was also a veteran of the United States Army, from which he was honorably discharged.
Mr. LeGrand worked in manufacturing, including at Philip Morris for more than 20 years, and most recently was the Director of Facility Services at The Gardens of Taylor Glen in Concord.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and by his sisters, Brenda Jobe and Debbie Adkins.
He is survived by a son, Camron LeGrand (Samantha) of China Grove, and two grandchildren (to whom he was “Paw Paw Charlie”), Ella LeGrand and Arlen LeGrand of China Grove.
His survivors also include his former wife, Barbara LeGrand, and a stepson, James Wolf.
Charlie is also survived by his partner, Maria Carvalho-Silva.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 28, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord.
