Charles Duane Ginder

CONCORD- Charles Duane “Jeep” Ginder, 81 passed away at his home on December 1, 2017.
A memorial service celebrating his life and visitation will be at the Speedway Club at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from noon to 3pm.
In the very small town of Sandyville, Iowa Jeep was born to James W. “Jim” and Grace Bricker Ginder on July 12, 1936. He was a 1954 graduate of Indianola High School where he played football all four years. As a teen he also participated in competition speedskating. He loved auto racing and revered Richard Petty. He traveled to many speedways to watch the races. Buying sportscars from the muscle car era was a passion of his. He owned many sportscars throughout the years. Charles was a heavy equipment engineer. He served in the Army National Guard for many years. His last employer was Power Curbers in Salisbury. His occupation made it possible for he and his wife to travel to many locations in Asia, Europe, Australia, and South America. During the Chunnel Project, he and his wife got to leisurely explore England and France during his time off. They also traveled to all 50 states. His favorite place to visit was Myrtle Beach. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Dilks; son-in-law, Terry Dilks; and grandson, Dustin Dilks.
Mr. Ginder is survived by his wife, Pamela Corneils Ginder; daughters, Kathy Ford and husband Mike and Dawn Messenberg and husband John both of Iowa; sons, Scott Ginder and wife Jill of Iowa and Jake Donaldson and Wife Kim of Concord; brother, James Lester Ginder of Iowa; nine grandchildren, Ryan Lundberg, Bryan Ford and wife Dorota, Jessica carter and husband Ryan, Elizabeth Miller and husband Michael, Christine Rhoades and husband Shane, Jade Ginder, Tessa Ginder, Justin Donaldson, and Madison T. Donaldson; and ten great grandchildren.
