Charles "Mike" Britt

Mr. Charles Michael “Mike” Britt age 74 of Unionville, TN and formerly of Salisbury, NC passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 19, 2024, while visiting family in Concord.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 28th from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord, NC. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:45 am at the VA National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.

Mike was born November 13, 1949 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, and was a son of the late Charles Benjamin Britt and Jerlene Little Britt. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, James Carroll Britt.

Mike attended Business College in Tulsa, Oklahoma before joining the United States Air Force in 1970. He served his country for 24 years; spending several of those years overseas on assignment. After Mike retired from Active Duty in 1994, he settled in Salisbury, NC where he completed his Bachelors Degree from Catawba College. He began working for the Salisbury Veterans Administration after earning his degree. He worked in several departments during this time but enjoyed his work in the Mental Health and Behavioral Sciences Services area the most. Mike retired from the Salisbury VA in 2016.

In his spare time, Mike enjoyed watching and attending baseball games, as he was a life-long St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also loved to travel, golf and spend time with his family and friends...he never missed a Britt Family Reunion. Mike was a true animal lover; over the years rescued several cats and dogs. He will be deeply missed by his constant companion of the past 9 years, Dixie, who was also a rescue dog.

Those who knew and loved Mike and will cherish his memory are his children; Anthony Britt and wife Jennifer of Williston, FL, Andrew Britt of Unionville, TN, Angela Britt Dixon and husband Tim of Concord, NC; his grandchildren, Brandon, Kaytlyn, Alexis, Hannah, Allison, Isabella, Bradley, T.J., Madison and Courtney; his brother, Robert Dale Britt and fiance' Lorry Beltran of Ft. Worth, TX; his nephew, Jeremy Britt and wife Lisa of Arlington, TX; his niece, Mandy Britt and fiance' Shawn Sosa of Mansfield, TX; his uncle, Ron Britt and wife Judy of Mt.Juliet, TN; as well as extended family, Amber Talbert and husband Jamie of Concord, NC, and Aaron Piatt and wife Tiffany of Ocala, FL.
