Cecil Ray Medlin of Concord, age 90, passed away early Saturday, April 1, 2017.
A memorial service will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 4, 2017. Visitation will be held at the church from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon, followed by the service at 12 noon.
Cecil was born February 13, 1927 in Concord. He was the son of Edna Belle Wells Medlin and Judge Franklin Medlin. He graduated from Hartsell High School and Florida Southern University. He was a veteran of World War II serving as a radar operator on a Naval battleship. He was an active member of his church, Epworth United Methodist Church where he was president of Methodist Men, chairman of the finance committees. Cecil was a manager for 25 years with Sperry and Hutchinson Company and for the last 25 years he was the owner of Medlin Real Estate Company here in Concord. He was selected as Realtor of the Year by the Central Carolina Association of Realtors.
He was known as a generous man, he never knew a stranger. He served his community through gifts of appreciation to local teachers, worked with the handicap and gave to the Cooperative Christian Ministries. Of all his many accomplishments in his life, he was most proud of his family.
Cecil is survived by his wife, Eunice Hatley Medlin; son, Cecil (Skip) Medlin Jr. (Susan); daughter, Kathryn Medlin Kleisch (William); grandchildren, Jonathan Kleisch (Stephanni), Ethan Kleisch, Suzanne Kleisch, and Emily Medlin. Also his sister, Shirley Medlin Nichols of Concord, many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Daisy.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Epworth United Methodist Church building fund, 1030 Burrage Rd., Concord, NC 28025.
