Carolyn Mashburn “Jordan” Guess, 78, of Concord, NC, passed away peacefully at Tucker Hospice House, surrounded by her husband and sons.
Carolyn was born in Waynesville, NC on April 27, 1946. She was the only child of the late Willard Lloyd and Verna Keylon Mashburn of Canton, NC.
Surviving is her husband, James G. Guess Jr. and two sons, Brent Jordan and wife, Mary; Aaron Jordan and wife, Cherie; 6 grandchildren and one great grandson.
She will be remembered for her love of both the mountains and the beach. Her family and church were her life.
Carolyn moved to Concord in 1976. She was self-employed for a number of years followed by a time at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Development and Construction, and as the Assistant to the National Director of Operations for Levy Restaurants, formerly a division of Charlotte Motor Speedway.
There will be a Celebration of Life will be Saturday, July 13th at 1:00 PM at McGill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Dr. Steve Ayers. The family will receive friends beginning at 12;00 PM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McGill Baptist Church, 5300 Poplar Tent Road, Concord, NC 28027, where Carolyn was a deacon and active member; or Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
