Mr. Carl Eugene Aldridge, age 83 passed away peacefully Saturday, September 30, 2017 at University Place in Charlotte.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday, October 2, 2017 at Wilkinson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 am Tuesday, October 3 at New Gilead Reformed Church with Pastor Jeff Burris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Carl was born December 21, 1933 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late George A. Aldridge, Sr. and Mary Bost Aldridge. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Carl was known as a “true cowboy”. He got his first horse at age 4 and his idol was Roy Rogers. He lived his whole life on the family farm and he raised his own family there. He served our country in the US Army, was a member of New Gilead Reformed Church, enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and Washington Redskins and square dancing.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Carolyn Efird Aldridge; children, Freda Cook and husband, Paul, Tina Blackwelder and husband, Tom, Anthony Aldridge and wife, Ashley, all of Concord; grandchildren, Emily Cook Humpton, Heather Cook, Brandon Pierce Love, Jason Pierce, Samantha Graham, Casey and Ryan Blackwelder, Jessika Remolona, Jordon, Dylan and Aiden Aldridge; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice Wilson of Kannapolis and Rebecca Aldridge of Concord; best friend, Donald Patterson; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
