Callie Cleo Violette

December 24, 1925 — May 9, 2016

Mrs. Callie Cleo Rice Violette, age 90 passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at Morningside Assisted Living.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 11th at Rocky River Presbyterian Church with Rev. Neal Carter officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.

Mrs. Violette was born December 24, 1925 in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late John C. and Sarah Eudy Rice. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Violette Jones and nine brothers and sisters.

Callie grew up in Mt. Pleasant and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. She married Mr. Stanley Violette, who was from Portland, Maine in February of 1947. They had 69 wonderful years together. Callie worked for many years at Kayser Roth Hosiery and was a long time members of Rocky River Presbyterian Church. She loved gardening, quilt making, cross stitching and most of all, taking care of her family.

In addition to her husband, Stanley F. Violette, survivors include her sons, Ron Violette and wife, Jane of Concord and Gary Violette of San Diego, CA; son-in-law, Dennis Jones of Concord; six grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Gladys Rice Pierce of Marshville and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, 156 Corporate Blvd., Indian Trail, NC 28079.
