Ray Motley

April 4, 1941 — November 8, 2023

On November 8, 2023, the world lost a cherished soul, Mr. Bobby "Ray" Motley, at the age of 82, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Pageland, SC. Ray, a proud veteran, devoted husband, and respected member of his community, left behind a legacy of service, love, and fond memories.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 13, 2023, at West Concord Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Jim Strickland, with Military Honors presented by the Cabarrus County Veterans Honor Guard. Following the service, friends and family are invited to gather and share their memories of Ray.

Ray was born on April 4, 1941, in Concord, NC, to the late Idell Lambert Motley and David Wesley Motley. Ray was preceded in death by his first wife, Nora Jane Motley.

He proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Army. Ray dedicated many years of his life working as a mechanic at Charlotte Pipe & Foundry, showcasing his skill and commitment to his craft.

He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Motley, daughters, Vickie Gee, Penny Edwards, sons Danny Hargett, Mitchell Greene, Berry Greene, Grandson Rodney Jones and Sisters Patricia Cox, Josie Love and Bek Motley.

Ray's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. As we mourn his passing, let us celebrate the years of service, love, and dedication he shared with his family and community. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire and guide us. He will be dearly missed and remembered with profound affection.
