Betty Jean Andrews

Mrs. Betty Jean Ingle Andrews passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at The Gardens of Taylor Glen.

Her funeral will be 2:30 PM Sunday at Epworth United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Ernest “Sonny” Albert Reavis, Jr.. Burial will follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 PM Sunday at the church.

Betty was born December 28, 1928 in Whitsett, NC to the late Carl Brower Ingle and Jennie Hoffman Ingle. She was also preceded in death by son Christopher Andrews in 2016, brothers J.B. Ingle and Dan Allen Ingle, sisters Sue Ingle Allen, Mary Frances Ingle Andrews, Edna Ingle Blythe, Ann Ingle Clarke and brothers-in-law Bruce Andrews, Charles Blythe and Don Allen.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She never met a stranger. Betty was an avid gardener and an excellent cook who specialized in wonderful cakes.

Betty and her husband Dean founded World Elastic Corporation in 1973. They were a team, worked hard together, and built a business that is still thriving.

Betty is survived by her husband, Dean Riley Andrews; sons, Gregory V. Andrews and wife Cordelia of Concord, and Mark A. Andrews of Charlotte; nine grandchildren, Michael Andrews and wife Jessica, Samuel Andrews and wife Beverly, Meredith Hattaway and husband Jon, Meagan Marek and husband David, Brittany Andrews, Daniel Andrews, Mary Margaret Hester and husband Michael, Laura Andrews and partner Kristin Richards, and Rachael Dennis and husband Weston; nine great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Deana S. Andrews of Concord; brothers, Joe Ingle and wife Kate of Simpsonville, SC, Jerry Ingle and wife Marie of Burlington, Tony Ingle and wife Sherry of Greensboro; sister-in-law, Arlene of Burlington; brother-in-law, Ronnie Clarke of Virginia; and a number of devoted nieces and nephews who will miss “Aunt Betty”.

A heartfelt thanks goes to the staff of Taylor Glen Health Care, and also to Betty’s private care nurses, Shelby Watson, Sarah Perry Snider, Carolyn Munn, Candace Phillips, Kyndra Munn, Jecelyn Baucom, Ashley Waters, Marcia Hallman, Tiffany Williams, and Katie Purser.

Memorials may be made to her church, Epworth United Methodist Church, 1030 Burrage Rd. NE, Concord, NC 28025.
