Bernice Burleyson

Mrs. Bernice Fink Burleyson of Christywood Lane, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at her home.

Funeral services will be held 3 PM Friday at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. James Strickland. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning 1 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Bernice was born June 7, 1932 in Concord to the late Ode and Eva Cagle Fink. She was preceded in death by husband Edward Lee Burleyson, son Edward Ray Burleyson, daughter, Peggy Sue Hicks, and 9 brothers and sisters. Bernice grew up farming off Flowe Store Rd, and later continued farming off Gold Hill Rd on the opposite end of the county. Her life focused around her family and caring for them.

Bernice is survived by her son, Melvin L. Burleyson and Wanda of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Scotty, Jason, Justin, Joshua, and Melissa; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Plott, Hattie Crisco, and Caroline Burris; and a number of nieces and nephews.
