CONCORD-Mrs. Bernice Tuner Blackwell of Fryling Ave., passed away Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Five Oaks Manor.
Funeral services will be held 4 PM Sunday at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Raymond Davis. The family will receive friends Sunday beginning at 2:30 PM at the funeral home.
Bernice was born April 2, 1927 in Morehead, KY to the late Bert and Sarah Cox Turner. She was also preceded in death by husband Marvin Lee Blackwell, son Roger Lee Blackwell, and brother Talmadge Lee Turner. Bernice was employed in the Cabarrus County School System, and later as a school crossing guard at Coltrane Elementary School.
Bernice was best known to always say: "I feel 16" and "I know how to spend a penny on both sides". Her smile was bright and she always put others before herself. She will be dearly missed.
Bernice is survived by her daughter, Sue Blackwell Query; son, Talmadge Blackwell and wife Becky; daughter-in-law, Pam Blackwell, all of Concord; seven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
